1961 to 1964 Fuel Tank Sender Gasket Here!

May 8th, 2014

To put out a fire, we have faithfully reproduced the 1961 to 1964 Pontiac Fuel Tank Sender Gasket.  This gasket, long gone from the Pontiac Parts Books, was not available until the reproduction of the gas tanks, senders and straps (which we sell).  However , the gasket was only available with the purchase of the sending unit, not by itself.  People wanted to clean out their tanks but did not need a sender.  Well, we stepped up and did the gasket!  The gasket is rubber and is made from the highest quality material available, just like our first reproduction 7 years ago, the filler neck “o” ring.  The cost of this gasket is $6.00 with USPS Priority Mail shipping the US for $7.20.  World-wide at cost.  As with all of products, we will combine for the cheapest shipping possible.  So if you’re dropping your tank to clean, you would need the sender gasket and the “O” ring for the filler neck.  Both ship for $7.20!  As always, thanks to those who support our efforts and make this fun to do.  LK 7-22-2018

Caged Nuts are here!

November 19th, 2013

By popular demand, PontiacParadise.com has reproduced the caged nut assembly found under your car.  There are 18 of these and your body bolts screw into these.  A lot of people who are removing their car off the frame are having the bolts either break off or spin.  This then means cutting the area out above the problem and somehow fixing the nut assembly.  Remember these nuts are within a cage and MUST be able to stay mobile otherwise you cannot adjust them to re-attach the body to your frame.  These are an exact reproduction and must be welded in.  They will accept your original bolt or new ones with fender washers can be had thru Ames Performance with the correct fender washer (PS-420) for $1.75 each.  The cost for the caged nut assembly is $7.95 each plus $8.50 USPS Priority Mail in the US.  As always, will ship world-wide at cost.  Our thanks to Bob Munson for suggesting we make this part.  In stock now! SO YOU WANT TO SWAP YOUR CAR OVER TO A 4 SPEED…..

November 19th, 2013

Because of the ton of requests we get regarding the conversion of 61-64 and 65-68 full size Pontiacs to manual transmissions, we will be writing a paper on doing this conversion.  A lot of this information is based on years of doing conversions and finding and/or making the parts needed to do the job.  The paper will cover specifically 61-62, 63-64 or 65-68 conversions, as each is different.  Many options will be given as to parts available and certain modifications to make the swap go easier and cheaper.  They will also provide information on where to go for parts.  We spend hours on the phone every week talking to people about losing their nasty 61 to 64 Hydramatics and going to a manual transmission.  We also talk to people about doing either a Turbo 400 or 700R4 conversion as well.  Some of the conversion information we have will greatly increase the performance of your car.  Such as “Do I go with a close ratio or wide ratio transmission?”  Or, “Why is a 61-64 Bonneville swap harder than a Catalina/Grand Prix swap?” A list of suppliers will also be provided to find parts to do your conversion.  Most parts are available thru us.  Because of the time needed to obtain this information and the amount of information provided, we feel that we should be compensated for this information.  Remember, this isn’t like doing your buddies 63 Chevy.  Mistakes are made ALL THE TIME, which cause problems and cost money to solve.  Each paper for all three groups (61-62, 63-65 and 65-68) will be available shortly for $15 each, sent USPS regular mail.  Sorry, we will not send via email.  We hope to have the papers available within the next week or so.   Thanks!  LK  11-19-2013

15″ & 16″ 8 LUG WHEELS NOW AVAILABLE!

October 28th, 2013

lug3PontiacParadise.com now has 15″ 8 lug  steel wheels available.  NOT the aluminum drums, just the wheels your tires mount on. As you probably know, the selection of decent 14″ tires is long gone.  People have been screaming for 15″ 8 lug wheels for a long time.  The people who made the reproduction 8 lug drums made a run of 15″ wheels however the welding of the lugs to the wheels was ugly.  They are long gone.  The new wheels are available in two different back spacings.  For 7″ wide rims, the back spacing will be 4.25″ and for the 8″ wide rims, the back spacing is 4.75″.  They are available in your choice of either black or silver power coated for $259.00 each or chrome plated for $289.00 each plus $25 each for shipping in the lower 48 states.  World-wide at cost. They can also be ordered bare at the same price. 8″  Trim Rings for the 15″ wheels are available thru Eckler’s, their part #A4165 at around $80 per car set.  They also have Trim Rings for 6″ and 7″ as all of these are Corvette Rally Wheel Trim Rings.  60-62 took the really narrow trim rings so you might consider those (6″) for that application.  I am told that the chrome rims really do not need trim rings as they look great without them.  Also, 16″ wheels are also available!  They can be ordered in bare, black or silver powered coated or chrome.   The bare, black or silver wheels are $289 each.  The chrome wheels are $319 each.  Again, plan on $25 per wheel shipping in the lower 48 states.  Chrome photo above and silver power coated below.  These prices are subject to change. Order today!  I have been notified of a 6 to 8 week delay in delivery of the wheels once they are ordered.  They are worth the wait. LK 10/28/2013

REPRODUCTION PARTS UPDATES AND NEWS! UPDATED 11-19-2013

October 24th, 2013

PontiacParadise.com is pleased to announce the following new products either here now or coming on line very soon.  First off, after many requests, we are doing the 61 to 64 fuel tank sending unit gaskets.  Until now, you had to buy a new repro sender from us to get the gasket.  Many senders are still working and folks wanted to re-install but had no source for the gasket.  Now you do.  Gaskets will be $6.95 plus USPS Priority Mail postage at $6.80 and are made out a material that is NOT affected by gas with ethanol, which eats most rubber parts.   On the subject of senders, we are in the process of having 65 to 68 senders reproduced.  They will be dual line senders only, which were used on factory air cars and/or cars with 3-2’s.  The single line senders were used on regular 2 barrel and 4 barrel cars.  The decision was made to do just the dual line senders as the unused 1/4″ return line can be capped off at the sender.  Delivery date is not yet known however they are in the pipeline. Remember that we have 61-64 fuel tanks, strap kits, senders and “o” rings in stock. Trying to get 65-68 fuel tanks made as well. No luck yet.  Response to the 63-64 lower quarters has been great!  We have sold over 28 pairs so far.  We are awaiting an update as for delivery of the 65-66 lower quarters at this time.  Right around December 15th we will release the 63-64 clutch fork boot that clips into the bellhousing.  These have not been available for over 30 years.  These will also replace the hookey metal cover used on 61 and 62’s.  They will be $49.95 plus $6.80 USPS Priority Mail in the US.  By January 15th, we will release the 63-64 clutch rod booty that keeps the crap out of your interior.  Cost is not yet known as of today but it is being done.  Next will be the retainer that holds the booty.  Once again, these can be used on 61 & 62’s as well. One last thing…we now have in stock, the correct pilot bearing for the end of your crankshaft (on stick cars).  This part was discontinued by Dorman a few years ago and has been tough to find.  These are in stock at $35 each plus $6.80 USPS Priority Mail in the US.   Please remember we ship world-wide at cost.  Thanks to everybody who loves old Pontiacs and continues to make this hobby a fun place.  LK  10/24/2013

1964 Tachometer Mounting Bracket Reviews!

June 6th, 2013

The reviews are coming in and they are great!  The bracket is a dead ringer for the original and everyone who has purchase them is severely happy.  Don’t forget there is a photo of where to drill your holes for both 63 and 64 on the blog.  You will have to page back to find.  Not sure when we will make another run of these so order now.  LK  6-6-2013

Finally! 61-62 Bonneville Shifter Porches!

June 6th, 2013

Well, after waiting for years and being lied to and promised a pattern, we finally received a mint 61-62 Bonneville Shifter porch from Michael Paneuo of Goshen, NY.  As we found out, 61-62 Bonnie porches are different from 63-64.  They are totally different from the 61-64 Catalina & Grand Prix porches as the transmission humps in Bonnies are larger.  This is due to Bonnies taking a Roto 275 automatic transmission verses the Catalinas and GP’s using a Roto 200 (SlimJim) transmission.  Plus, for whatever reason, the 61-62’s are different from 63-64’s.  This will finally give us ALL of the three or four speed shifter porches from 61 to 68.  In stock now!    $135.00 plus $15,50 USPS. Thanks again to Michael Paneduo.  LK  6-6-2013

1967-1968 Repro Quarters Not Coming……

May 7th, 2013

I must stress this is a maybe situation.  At a recent swap meet here in St. Paul, I purchased an NOS 1967 Bonneville LH Quarter Panel.  Somebody had started to mount it using screws.  Most of the EDP paint is missing however it is straight and can be used to make a pattern for not only Bonnevilles, but Catalina and Grand Prixs.  I receive about three calls a week looking for quarters for 67 Grand Prix convertibles.  OK, the goal now is to get it to my buddy Mike in Detroit to get started.  Mike is able to reverse-engineer this for the RH side.  As with previous quarter panel projects, the panels will be the full length and go up to the belt-line only.  About 3″ above the wheel well opening.  The indentation at the rear will not be on these panels as it is too hard to make.  All other contours will be correct.   I am just letting you know that this maybe in the pipeline.  Please do not start writing or calling to find out when these might be out.  Any information will be posted on the site.   Trying hard to get all the quarters done from 61 to 68.  Still looking for an NOS 61 and 62 quarter panel.  One more thing….the freight on these is quite a bit of money.  Please remember that when you do order.  I have no control over this cost.  I find that Fed Ex Ground is the best route for long, goofy shipments.  Thanks and take care.  LK  2 -24-2014

Update:  Mike has informed me that he cannot do the 65-66 quarters and I doubt he can do the 67-68 quarters.  He is lacking the dyes or does not have the machine capable of doing the bends needed to do this.  I am truly sorry.
