The following will give you an idea of just what can happen. Steve is a great guy just trying to make a living. The town of Gaston is a dying, Midwest dump of a small town. The town leadership acts as if Gaston will be the next San Francisco in their thinking. Anyway, on to Steve's email:

Steve writes....
Well IndianaPontiacs is under the gun. Almost literally! The had 3 town cop cars at my shop the other day while I was putting up brand new awesome looking 10' high privacy/security fence. Its made out of pole barn siding with a nice emerald green color. Looks sweet. really! Anyway they gave me 3 citations. Putting up a fence with no permit. They forgot I still had my old permit good for a year! $15 fee. So the next day I get a certified letter with $15 in it that my wife had to sign for revoking my permit since they voted back in March but forgot to inform me.

They they cited me for having a unsafe building. The old elevator on my property that has been abandon for 3 decades is all of a sudden a problem? Never mind the town PO that everyone uses every day has bricks that fall off the top of the 2nd story during storm winds and hit the side walk in front of the PO entrance door. Nor the abandon building leaning so far over it is about to fall into the street just across from the PO.

Then they cited me for running junkyard out of my second location which is not zoned for a junkyard. It is zoned limited business. Yes I am parting cars out inside but was also advised my the former town board president who jumped my ass one day while I was unloading a new load of fine Pontiacs that I was instructed in writing that I was "Not allowed to store any more cars outside". He even had the town Marshall with him. I informed him that I was merely unloading to the cars so I could store them INSIDE my building. Well he said there was nothing he could do about that. What I do inside was my business. Now my attorney wants me to kiss some ass up there to get what I want and I say FUCK EM. I've not screwed anyone. I've not back-doored anyone either... I've been maybe too honest! I have let them inspect every inch of my shops. I've had the EPA out and invited the town to come see my operation first hand. I'm pissed to say the least. Many thoughts have come to mind. Including crushing it all. I could walk away for $25000. I took a small pickup truck load of misc scrap to the scrap yard yesterday and got $102! I had to wait almost 30 mins to get in. Prices are way up. Of course this is an extreme idea but there may be a time when I have no choice either!

Thanks for the info.

I haven't been able to work them because they just stop answering the phone. the volume of complaints caused BBB to delist them, so that doesn't work anymore. I have a Seekonk Detective who has promised to rattle their cage and have checked out their boiler room operation
myself will post pics eventually.

Keith vze4wpzx@verizon.net

Notes from Les Kasten: I have placed Keith's email address here so those of you that have problems with this company can contact him. I also filed a complaint with the BBB. I apparently am one of the lucky ones in that I finally received my lift and resold it the day it arrived. I lost $80 but it's gone. Good luck to all of you who have dealt with this poor excuse for an American business.

Hi Les,

You are right, i had a similar experience. Ordered a four post lift on September 19, with a promised delivery date of October 25. On October 12, I received an e-mail stating that the lift would be delayed at least 30 days. long story short, after numerous phone calls and e-mail, with only one response, I could not get a firm date of delivery. Fearing that the company was in trouble, I cancelled the order on October 16th. Here it is November 14 and I still do not have a refund on my credit card. What a horrible experience and a very non responsive company to deal with. Make you wonder what would happen if you had a problem with one of their lifts? I would not recommend them for a purchase.
