1964 to 1972 GTO Tachometer ID Info

I am going to show you the tachometers that came in GTO's to try and stop the continual load of crap being perpetuated on eBay in Pontiac tachometer sales. READ MY LIPS... GTO's NEVER HAD CONSOLE MOUNTED ANYTHINGS. This includes tachometers and vacuum gauges. Not that a million of them didn’t find there way onto some consoles. They did. My beef is the people who try to sell you these items as some “option” for your otherwise correct GTO and continue to list these tachometers as some GTO part.

This is a in-dash tach for a 68 thru 72 Lemans-GTO. I like this photo as it has no lens over the face. My thanks to grampagary@comcast.net for the photo.

The one photo I do not have is of a 1964 GTO in-dash tach. I have asked two separate people on eBay to please send me a photo of their 64 tach that was up for auction and both got "really weird", wanting to know why I needed it. I explained and neither even sent me a photo. Thanks JERK. Anyway, if you have a nice .jpg of a 64 tach either loose or in a car, please send it to killerbob33@aol.com and I will be forever thankful.

This is an Ames Performance replacement tach Part # A259HN for 65 to 67 GTO. Thanks to mary.donovan@comcast.net for sharing this photo.

This is a 1965 to 1967 GTO factory in-dash tach. This was the ONLY tach option.
